Route Movements
Route Movements is the MFA thesis dance performance by Ellen Oliver that brings together dance, rock climbing, and digital technology. The duration of the performance is 30 minutes, and featured live motion capture from a custom garment created in collaboration with Ellen that then controlled sound, lighting and projections elements created by Ramin Roshandel, Victor Maldonado and Emily Berkheimer respectively.
The outfit was created with retroreflective tape covered pearls attached to the dance outfit on the Core (50) markerset in OptiTrack Motive, with the 10 foot-based markers replaced with retroreflective tape affixed to Ellen's feet and a set of custom barrettes affixed to the hair to send the skeletal data to the computer.
